Highwood Chamber of Commerce
Community Support

Brand Strategy + Logo Design + Multichannel Communications + Video Production + Content Development + Digital Marketing

Our “hometown,” Highwood, is a great destination for lively community events—many presented by the Chamber of Commerce. But outside the immediate area, its charms were closer to a best-kept secret. As an active Chamber board member, Street Level Studio’s CEO Tanya Fretheim saw a unique opportunity to help the organization support a resilient local economy by sharing our marketing expertise and talents. Since then, we’ve led a wide variety of efforts to differentiate, elevate, and promote Chamber initiatives and bring more attention and traffic to community-based businesses.

Using strategic design and elevated marketing to steadily build awareness of what the community offers has attracted a broader range of visitors and shoppers to Highwood from across the Chicago metropolitan area.

Our efforts for the Chamber range from one-off event-based projects to more long-term projects with deeper ongoing value—the most visible being the “Experience Highwood” street banner project we designed, managed, and implemented for the City’s downtown core. Paired with striking black-and-white photographs representing Highwood’s unique character, the alternating red and orange banners revitalized the look of the business district overnight. In addition, we’ve rebranded many Chamber events, designing more contemporary logos and using them to anchor integrated marketing campaigns, including signage, flyers, print ads, event maps, social media, and digital banner ads.
